Under ultrahigh vacuum conditions, the electrical conductivity of ultrathin copper films (with thickness d???15 nm) deposited on glass surface or on glass surface predeposited with germanium underlayer is investigated. Some difficulties of contemporary size-effect theories of electron-transport phenomenon are analysed. If the peculiarities of real metal-film structure are not taken into account, quantitative description of experimental data cannot be achieved.
