Films based on Poly(N-vinylcarbazole) (PVCa), fabricated by deposition from the gas phase and doped with acceptor organic and inorganic semiconducting compounds and gold, are investigated. Gas-phase doping technology of PVCa with acceptor compounds, in particular, C60, TNF, CdSe, results in formation of efficient photoconductors. The combining of PVCa and thin-film heterostructures with acceptors, inorganic semiconductors, and metals makes these materials attractive multifunctional systems for optoelectronics, electrophotography, molecular photonics, sensing, and templating technologies. The efficiency of the developed automated control system of simultaneous gas-phase condensation from several sources for fabrication of heterostructures and templating technologies is demonstrated.
