The effect of mechanical treatment of nonporous superfine silica (nanosilica)
in a ball mill on adsorption of bovine serum albumin (BSA) is studied.
As shown, the value of BSA adsorption per unit mass of nanosilica
decreases with the time of treatment that can be explained by the decrease
of specific surface area of silica, because the value of BSA adsorption per
unit of area is kept constant and is equal to 2.4 mg/m2 for all samples.
