THE MAIN RESEARCH DIRECTIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT
- Study of static and dynamical defects of the surface and near-surface layers within the manometer range; researching the processes of the atomic particles interaction with the solid`s surface and usage the phenomena accompanying these processes for study and changing of a composition, structure and physical properties of the materials` surface.
- The physics of the secondary emissive phenomena and development on their basis the methods of local and layer-by-layer analysis of the solids` surface.
- Modification of the physical-and-chemical properties of the materials` surface by ion-plasma fluxes and an intensive plastic deformation.
