Iu. V. Danylovych, Н. V. Danylovych, O. V. Kolomiets, R. V. Rodik, V. I. Kalchenko, S. O. Kosterin Calix[4]arenes C-97 and C-99 at concentration of 100 nM inhibit the Ca2+ accumulation by isolated mitochondria from smooth muscle and reduce the concentration of these cations in the matrix. The latter is explained by the registered stimulation of electrogenic mitochondria Ca2+/H+-exchanger, which is accompanied by transient polarization of the inner mitochondrial membrane. Analysis of endogenous NADH fluorescence response of mitochondria suggests that the effect of the studied calix[4]arenes in the smooth muscle may be related to the inhibition of the respective dehydrogenases too. Key words: calix[4]arenes, calcium ions, mitochondria, Сa2+-homeostasis, smooth muscle. https://doi.org/10.15407/nnn.15.02.0365 REFERENCES 1. L. G. Babich, S. G. Shlykov, and S. O.
