The melting and solidification processes in nickel are investigated by means of the molecular dynamics method. Compacted clusters of crystalline and non-crystalline types are identified in supercooled liquid nickel. The volume fraction of clusters is increasing with temperature decreasing and reaches the percolation threshold at the glass transition.
