TiO2/Мn? (М???Co, Ni, Mn, Cu) nanocrystalline powders with anatase structure are synthesized by the template sol–gel method. Prepared Меn?/TiO2 systems show high activity and selectivity of ? 100% with respect to N2 in the process of photocatalytic removal of nitrates from potable water. The elevated photocatalytic activity of Cu2?/TiO2 is explained as an effect of Cu2+ and Cu0, which form during photochemical reduction.
