By means of gravimetry, DTA, XRD and IR spectroscopy, the stages and intermediate products of thermal decomposition of lead titanyloxalate PbH2[TiO2(C2O4)2]?4Н2О and lead zirconyloxalate Pb[ZrO(C2O4)3]?6Н2О used as precursors in lead titanate and lead zirconate synthesis are studied. As shown, the decomposition process proceeds through several parallel routes and some of them result in synthesis of nanocrystalline PbTiO3 and PbZrO3. The output of products via these routes increases with an increase in heating rate.
