Complex LaBa6Cu7Oy and LaBa6Cu8Oz oxides are fabricated by sol–gel technique in air (y???15.09, z???16.12) and annealed later in oxygen flow (y???15.24, z???16.33). X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), and measurement of electrical resistivity in range 290–77 K show the effect of oxygen atmosphere on crystallographic, optical, electrical properties, and morphology features of sintered cuprates. As revealed, the tetragonal–orthorhombic phase transformation is obtained by annealing in oxygen atmosphere. In powder-like complex oxides, crystal grains decrease, diffuse reflectance and resistivity increase.
