The results of investigations of the structure and properties of FeAl/Al2O3 and Fe1?xCrxAl/Al2O3 powders fabricated by the me-chanically-activated self-propagating high-temperature syn-thesis are presented. Powders have nanocomposite interpene-trating structure with a grain size from 20 up to 190 nm, mi-crohardness of 217–269 Hv25, and exhibit an excellent capacity with detonation spraying. Detonation coatings from the syn-thesised powders are characterised by the high microhardness (7.5–8.5 GPa) and a good antifriction properties under condi-tions of the lubricated friction of sliding and rolling.
