A new class of carbon-containing adsorbents on the base of dia-mond nanopowders with a certain ratio of carbon phases with sp2- and sp3-hybridizations is developed. The goal of this work is to investigate adsorption activity of new grades of diamond nanopowders to components of biological environments. The methods of reconstruction of diamond-nanopowders surface for intensification of the selective mechanism of adsorption are developed. As revealed, the diamond nanopowders containing 10–20 wt.% of carbon phase with sp2-hybridization after elec-trochemical reconstruction of a surface possess maximal ad-sorption activity to ions of heavy metals.
