«Optical and Electron Properties of Cobalt in Different Structural States»
843–850 (2009)

PACS numbers: 61.43.Dq, 71.20.Be, 71.23.-k, 73.20.At, 75.50.Cc, 78.20.-e, 78.66.-w

The refraction and absorption indexes of amorphous and crystalline Co thin films are measured in a wide spectral range of 0.25–17.0 ?m (0.07–4.96 eV) at room temperature. On this basis, optical conductivity caused by interband transitions is calculated. As shown, at the structure transformations ‘amorphous–crystalline state’, the optical properties of metallic Co are determined mainly by the nearest neighbourhood, and the electronic structure is not subjected to essential changes.
