Temperature dependence of the characteristic sizes of regions of ‘magnetic-domain’ type with the homogeneous magnetic short-range order in an alloy of Fe0.5Co0.5 is considered. The microscopic mechanism of magnetic ordering in an alloy with strong electron correlations is revealed. The theory of energy spectrum and thermodynamical potential for magnetic binary substitutional alloys, which consist of transition metals, is used for calculations. The theory is based on a cluster expansion for the Green functions and thermodynamical potential of disordered crystal of an alloy.
