Necessary thermodynamic conditions of appearance of modulated lamellarstructures
within the framework of the non-uniform distribution of impurity
rigid-ball-like particles intruded into the mesomorphic host medium are analyzed.
The method of static fluctuation waves and the self-consistent-field
approximation within the quasi-lattice-gas model are used. The externalcondition-
dependent long-range indirect elastically-controlled interaction
between impurity particles is induced by an interference of static directorfield
curvatures and is considered as being responsible for the formation of
superstructures. Such approach allows estimating the temperature of formation
of the possible modulated structures and their spatial period.
