PACS numbers: 05.65.+b, 33.35.+r, 61.72.Hh, 71.70.Ch, 76.30.-v, 87.64.kh, 87.80.Lg

It is carried out a systematic analysis of the EPR-data array for molybdenum(V) located in condensed media in forms, which differ by the nature of the donor environment (F, Cl, Br, I, O, S, Se, N, P), local co-ordination numbers (from 4 to 8) and the symmetry of the co-ordination sphere polyhedra (tetrahedron, trigonal bipyramid, tetragonal pyramid, distorted octahedron, trigonal prism, pentagonal bipyramid, dodecahedron), the nature of the structure-determining atom of the functional groups of reagents (C, S, P, As, etc.) with different combinations of donor atoms in the chelate cycle of varying complexity, the presence of multiple-bonded ligands (=O, =N−R, =N−NR2, ≡N, =P−R, =S, =Se, and among them, for the first time organized multiple-bonded chelating ones), the possibility of forming heteronuclear clusters with Nb(V), Cu(II) and mixed-ligand compounds, the nature of interligand innersphere interactions (hydrogen bonding, stacking effect, and noncovalent S...S, Se...Se, Br...Br, I...I contacts).
