PRINCIPAL RESEARCH AREAS
Scientific activity:
- Study of the quantum transport processes in complex heterostructures formed by nanoscale films of normal, ferromagnetic and superconducting metals; comparison between a theory and an experiment
- Development of new analytical methods for the Green functions based on the scattering matrix formalism, analyses of the structure of the ground state, phase transformations and spectral properties of Mott-Hubbard dielectrics
- Study of strong electron correlations` impact and electron–phonon interaction on the transport, the magnetic structure and the elementary excitations spectrum of transition-metal complex oxides; comparison between a theory and an experiment
- Simulation of the external (magnetic, electrical, temperature) fields` effect on electronic spectra of coordination complexes containing ions of rare–earth elements.
Educational activity:
- Assistance to the Donetsk National University in the education process for students planning to be engaged in physics on a professional level
- Development of modern original courses on physics and carrying out of scientific seminars together with students
- Direct participation of high-advanced students in the research activity of the Laboratory
- Establishing of scientific and educational contacts with some European and American universities, exchange of students and lecturers, joint research activities
